In September 2014, the IOE Confucius Insitute launched the Young Photographers’ Competition, to coincide with National Confucius Institute Day. The competition is now in its third year and has seen some excellent photography from students across the world. The aim of the competition is to dispell the cultural stereotypes of China through photography and show the vast country through the eyes of young people. Each year we include a home-based category which explores China’s relationship with the United Kingdom.
The Young Photographers Competition is now open for 2016 with a deadline for entries on Friday 11th November at 5pm.
The photography competition is open to anyone aged 18 years and under; entries will be exhibited in the main IOE building, with winning entries being given the opportunity to exhibit at the Southbank Centre as part of their China Changing Festival on 16th December (more details to follow). Prizes for winners and runners-up include up to £200 worth of Amazon vouchers.
