27-28 March 2015 (Part 1)
24-25 April 2015 (Part 2)
About: A two-part course to help develop and modernise your classroom skills through multiple different technologies. Looking at lessons from both the teacher and learner perspective, by the end of each weekend you will have new ideas and activities to test out back in your school.
Part 1 focuses on materials selection and use, with a strong practical element of creating new and different ways in which you can approach skills-development activities through the many technological resources available. There will be an emphasis on the ways in which you can make technology really work for you, from developing simple PowerPoint presentations, to creating your own listening activities, web quests and authentic materials to enhance learning. By the end of the weekend you will have a new group of activities, created by you and your colleagues, to take back to the classroom and test out!
Part 2 focuses on the learner’s role in the classroom, and how you can improve their learning through building their motivation and engagement with meaningful activities. In the modern classroom, an integral part of building learner autonomy includes using the technology that features heavily in their lives, and this course will expand the ways in which you can use this to your advantage. You will also leave this course with multiple activities that you can use immediately back in your classroom, and continue to develop.
